The Sultanate of Oman celebrated the launch of a special commemorative postage stamp marking its participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, under the patronage of H.E. Qais bin Mohammed Al-Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for Oman’s participation in Expo 2025. The launch highlights the pioneering role of Oman Post in preserving national memory and documenting the Sultanate’s civilizational and cultural journey. H.E. the Minister stated: “The stamp has a denomination of 300 baisa and is issued in a limited edition of no more than 5,000 copies, along with 3,000 commemorative postcards, giving it a special value among collectors and enthusiasts.” He added: “The stamp, designed in a 5×4 cm format, strikes a balance between aesthetics and precision, and was produced using offset printing technology to highlight colors and symbols with exceptional clarity. Printing was entrusted to Cartor Security Printing in France, one of the world’s leading security printing institutions.” This release represents the continuation of Oman Post’s evolution from a medium of message delivery to a visual archive that documents Omani history and safeguards the essence of national identity. The launch ceremony received significant official, diplomatic, and media attention. Attendees praised the issuance as a valuable addition to the global philatelic library and a reflection of Oman’s image that blends authenticity with modernity. The commemorative stamp adds a new documentary dimension to Oman’s participation in Expo Osaka, narrating the Sultanate’s story from past to present, while highlighting its initiatives in clean energy, innovation, and sustainable investment. It will serve as an enduring symbol of Oman’s presence at this prestigious global event. The ceremony was attended by H.E. Sayyid Said bin Sultan Al-Busaidi, Commissioner General of Oman’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, along with a number of senior officials.
