The Sultanate of Oman will participate this Tuesday in the 59th edition of Marmomac, the international exhibition for stone, architectural design, and stone industry technologies, which will take place in Verona, Italy, over four days. Marmomac is one of the world’s largest exhibitions dedicated to natural stone, marble, stone-processing technologies, machinery, and the diverse applications of stone in design, décor, and related industries. Her Excellency Ibtisam bint Ahmed Al-Farouji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Investment Promotion, affirmed that the participation of the Omani Products Promotion Committee (OPEX) reflects Oman’s ongoing efforts to enhance the presence of Omani products in global markets and showcase the Sultanate’s rich natural resources and high-quality, competitive stone industries. Speaking to the Oman News Agency, H.E. Al-Farrojiya stated that the participation represents an important opportunity to highlight the capabilities of Omani companies, explore investment partnerships, and exchange expertise with leading international firms. She added that OPEX aims to open broader horizons for Oman’s non-oil exports and reinforce Oman’s position as a regional hub for stone trade and manufacturing, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 to diversify the national economy and increase value addition from local resources. Eng. Dawood bin Salim Al-Hadhabi, CEO of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn” and Chairman of OPEX, emphasized Oman’s keenness to participate annually in Marmomac, describing it as the premier global platform for showcasing and marketing natural stone and marble. He noted that the exhibition serves as a strategic opportunity for Oman to attract new investments, reaffirm its commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation, and explore the latest design and manufacturing technologies that add greater value to its products. He further explained that the participation seeks to create new cooperation channels between Omani manufacturers and international distributors, highlight the strength and diversity of Omani marble, and exchange expertise with industry leaders, architects, and designers from around the world. It also aims to consolidate Oman’s reputation as a competitive and attractive destination for investment in this sector. Al-Hadhabi pointed out that Oman’s participation is part of OPEX’s 2025 plan, represented by Madayn, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the SME Development Authority. The plan focuses on targeting key industrial sectors, diversifying marketing channels for Omani products, boosting exports, and supporting Omani companies and SMEs in exploring new trade and export opportunities. It also seeks to expand Oman’s global commercial presence, open new markets for exporters, and create promising business opportunities and trade deals. This year’s Marmomac is expected to host more than 1,400 exhibitors from over 50 countries and attract around 50,000 visitors, including investors, industry professionals, and specialists. The exhibition will focus on three main pillars: material, technology, and culture, reflecting the rapid evolution of the marble industry and its architectural and artistic applications.
